As I briefly mentioned in the previous post, I was able to get together with a former coworker and very good friend this week for the first time in years! Nicolette and her husband are missionaries in the Middle East and have been living there for about 3 years. While they've been living there, they had a beautiful and adorable little girl who I've only seen through pictures and videos.
They are back in the states this summer for their home assignment, and are in Dallas for a couple of weeks. I was so excited to see them and to finally meet Isla, who is even sweeter and cuter than I imagined!
Despite the three year ago difference between our children, they played together wonderfully. Landon was great about sharing his toys. All of his toys. I think he cleared his room out showing her everything. But he was so sweet and protective towards her, showing her how to use things and holding her hand as they walked together. It was just precious.
We then headed out to lunch so they could enjoy some real barbecue for the first time in years. And we all proceeded to get brain freezes from the freakishly cold ice cream Dickey's serves.
So cold! But so good!

It was so wonderful to be able to see them for a little while. Hopefully we won't have to wait 3 more years before doing it again!
