Girl Scouts Investiture Ceremony

Investiture and Re-Dedication Ceremony is a big part of Girl Scouts. The Ceremony is held to welcome new girls into Girl Scouting and for the girls that are already invested to reaffirm their belief in the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Because of the importance of these events, I wanted to give the girls a beautiful but meaningful ceremony.

We started the ceremony with a Flag Ceremony, welcomed the new girls with a Candle Light Ceremony, played a skit about Stereotype(current patch they are working on it) and closed the ceremony singing "Make New Friends".After the ceremony, the girls and their family enjoyed some light refreshments that included cake pops, trail mix, cake balls, brigadeiros de copinho(Brazilian chocolate dessert), sweet popcorn and lemonade.

As favors, the guests took home s'mores favors and each Girl Scouts received a Butterfly necklace. Since now they are Juniors, the butterfly necklace has a special meaning for them. As they get older, they are growing their wings to fly to higher places on their own. Scouting is a fun way to teach young ladies on how to make the world a better place.
