For about a month now dh and I have been working out the details for selling our house and buying another one. I am excited about it all! I'm dreading the packing but excited about my new house. We hope to close around the first week of April. So I will be busy packing and pitching things. I will update from time to time during the process. I am looking forward to re-doing the rooms in my new house and sharing it with you.
This is a song by FRANCESCA BATTISTELLI. It is called "This Is The Stuff"
Here are the lyrics: I lost my keys in the great unknown And call me please 'Cuz I can't find my phone
This is the stuff that drives me crazy This is the stuff that's getting to me lately In the middle of my little mess I forget how big I'm blessed This is the stuff that gets under my skin But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing It might not be what I would choose But this is the stuff You use
45 in a 35 Sirens and fines while I'm running behind Whoa
This is the stuff that drives me crazy This is the stuff that's getting to me lately In the middle of my little mess I forget how big I'm blessed This is the stuff that gets under my skin But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing It might not be what I would choose But this is the stuff You use
So break me of impatience Conquer my frustrations I've got a new appreciation It's not the end of the world Oh Oh Oh
This is the stuff that drives me crazy This is the stuff Someone save me In the middle of my little mess I forget how big I'm blessed This is the stuff that gets under my skin And I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing It might not be what I would choose But this is the stuff You use
Oh Oh Oh Oh This is the stuff You use

I really identified with these lyrics. This songs helps keeps thing in perspective and it's a catchy little tune. I hope it makes you smile today.
I now have the prettiest dining room suite. It once belonged to my husbands great grandmother. It has wonderful details and is very lovely. I am told it is about 80 years old. I am just smitten with it. Here are some of my "before" pictures I wanted to share with you. It does need some cleaning and freshening up.
The color of the wood is beautiful and I love the details of the doors on the buffet.
The captain chair. See the dust all over it?
The simple details of the chairs are quit lovely.
The table has been sitting in grandpa's house for some time. There has been a doily table cloth on it and you can still see the pattern after the table cloth was taken off.
It is composed of chromed & stainless steel, polished aluminum, and black & red Bakelite. The mixer is rust & dent-free, works great, and sounds like a Machine Age mixer should! It could use some polishing though.
It even comes with a meat grinder and all the needed accessories. However, I'm not sure I will ever need the meat grinder but it is still pretty cool.
I found all this in my grandma's basement. What a great find! My grandma told me that it had belonged to my great-grandmother and that when she passed away, my grandma kept it because she like it so much. My grandma never used it though. She never switched out her kitchen mixer for my great-grandmother's. So, not only is this a cool functioning machine but it once belonged to my great-grandmother. A little family history is now sitting right in my kitchen.
