Just Keep Swimming~

The kids have wanted a pet for some time.  But since we are renters, having a pet of the four-legged variety isn't an option.  So when the Princess brought home a goldfish from school, I thought that it would be the perfect fit (provided it lasted through the first night - since most goldfish brought home from school/fairs etc. usually don't.)

Halloween Craft with the Kiddos: Mr. Bottle Bones~

Last year, the kiddos and I ran across this Halloween project from Family Fun Magazine that they reeeaaalllly wanted to make:  Mr. Bottle Bones.





Thing is, it takes 8 gallon-size plastic milk bottles to make, and it was too close to Halloween to save up that many.  So this year, I started saving milk bottles in September, and we finally had enough a few days ago.

Loft Bedroom for a Tween~

My three boys share a bedroom.  It has worked so far, but now that my oldest has started Jr. High school, it is becoming increasingly more difficult for him to share with his two little brothers.  The poor kid really needs a space of his own.  So what's a mom to do?  In this case, I am considering giving up my loft office space and turning it into a bedroom for Boy #1.  I'm campaigning for

Fun Family Tradition: Annual Back-to-School Dinner

Back-to-school is one of my favorite times of the year.  It seems like such a fresh start with wonderful possibilities to me.  I remember as a child always being excited when it was time to return to school each fall, and I want my children to feel the same way.  So each year, we celebrate going back-to-school with a fun dinner.
